How long is the Gastroenterology Certification Exam?
The exam consists of up to 240 single-best-answer multiple-choice questions, mostly pertaining to patient scenarios in practice settings. The interpretation of image based materials such as electrocardiograms, radiographs and photomicrographs, may be incorporated into the exam questions. You will be asked to make a diagnosis, create a treatment or management plan, order diagnostic tests, recognize clinical features of a disease or determine means of prevention, screening, staging or follow-up.
This is a single day exam that will take approximately 10 hours divided into several sections.
In 2021, the First-Time Taker Pass Rate for the Gastroenterology Certification Exam was 96%.
